Oh Happy Day :)

*can’t stop grinning like an idiot*

because today has confirmed the little secret rumor that the account exec shared with me a few days earlier. THE WHOLE STAFF OF THE COMPANY RECEIVE THE MOST GENEROUS ‘DUIT RAYA’ SINCE THE HISTORY OF THE COMPANY – A ONE MONTH BONUS!!!! *howls* that struck everyone with disbelief. i even heard that some did the poco-poco dance in the office…. apuuuu!!! (not our branch)

with that i am so very THANKFUL. God, THANK YOU for putting me in this place!!! i pray that God will continue to pour His countless blessing towards the company and continue to prosper. and also with that, i wanna say a big THANK YOU to my generous big boss. God bless you, boss!! 😀

***********************************************************************************************************

have you ever have a feeling where your heart is so OVERWHELMED with GRATITUDE and JOY for knowing a person in your life that tears filled your eyes just thinking about them? yesterday that feeling consumed me out of the blue. i was so filled with gratitude and thankfulness for knowing this person in my life that ALL her sharing and teaching (with her shrieks and ketegasan, but what do u expect she is a teacher) came flashing one by one drilling my head like a driller and i realised how i have hold on to her words for the person i am today. i sent a THANK YOU message on her fb wall today as well as her inbox and she replied with ‘xie-xie’ LOL!!!! dear Lord, may You always shield her under wings and bless her with never-ending blessing from above in her life.

that person is our pastor’s wife and also a school teacher, dora andy.

have you say THANK YOU to a person that has inspired you or mold you or even left an impact to u today?! no day is better than today to say it.

because a post is always yummier with a photo.

"Today is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be gald in it." Psalm 118:24

be blessed, peeps!

Monday Musings (on a Tuesday)

welcome to my monday musing. on a tuesday. that is. sorry to drag you along with my stupidity by losing the day but this is what happen when the connection sucks on a monday T__T so this is actually written yesterday. sorry i hope this wont happen again in the future :p

i have decided to dedicate this day (monday) to get things off my chest and out of my head. at least i can shoo my monday blues away. errrmmm… but be prepared also that i might not stick religously to the idea as my laziness supersedes the motivation.

as the tagline suggest. this blog is not all about showing off my amerture photography. it’s also of LIFE, LOVE and FAITH, remember? so today i might as well dwell with these three element that i see happened the whole week.

LIFE: it’s funny how life turns out to be exactly the opposite of what we thought or planned? when i was back in my final year of study i cant wait to be back home and serve here with whatever job i could get. i just cannot imagine myself being stuck in the crazy jam of kl and all the fuss of paying off rentals and all that and living a hectic life. i prefer a mellow, relaxing life in the comfy place called home. where laundry is well taken care of. but after five years of being in the comfort zone of the family’s roof and other homey benefits i finally have to be away. all by myself. where laundy is another serious task other than work T__T

LOVE: when love is a noun. it is also a verb. when it comes to verb. one DO it in ACTION!! and it knows no boundaries. so today i am thankfull for that sheepish clumsy kisses that left a bump on your head. it shows ur ACTION. i am in awe of her energy to travel one whole day transitting four different airports to get to him despite all the shortcomings. what do you know?! it shows her ACTION. his sacrifices just to have her legally despite all the obstacles and different nationality and idealogy. it shows his ACTION.

FAITH: many things about tomorrow that i dont seem to understand and i let fear to cripple my capacity to obey and to follow His way T__T there are things that i knew i have to give up and let go but i let pretence to surpass. but in all seriousness i know who holds tomorrow and i just need to remain patience. patience is a virtue. havent they tell you about it?!

be blessed, ppl!

i am running out of title so i just use the title of today’s daily bread.
the daily bread booklet used to be my guidance during my daily devotion.
which i am shamelessly declaring now that a routine i’ve missed for so long now T__T
i dunno why. let just say laziness wins everytime!!

It is written, “man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY word of God.” Luke 4:4
this message seems so appropriate today.

God knows what’s in my heart atm.
it is a jumble of stress and depression.
i can’t wait for all this mess to end.
really. pls!

just came back from the corporate prayer meeting.
one sharing touched my heart.

the three generations.

oh Lord, forgive us for sinning against our elderly, the authority above us, the GENERATION BEFORE US. forgive us for not obeying and honoring them the way we should and should have been.

oh Lord, forgive us for sinning against our CURRENT GENERATION. forgive us for not caring about the things going around us. for not loving enough. for not taking chances. for taking things for granted. for letting our own friends slip away T__T

oh Lord, forgive us for sinning against our FUTURE GENERATION that we do not set the excellent examples for the young ones. for not creating legacy to last for generations.

dear Lord, forgive us. forgive ME.

be blessed, ppl!

Merdeka!! Race?! What Race?! Race Car ahh!!

Yess!!! Finally!!! MERDEKA!!! While the whole nation is celebrating the country’s 52nd birthday today, it is also a day of freedom for me…. free from the tension of deadlines, free from multimedia project, free from advertisements project!! I believe the whole team really really gonna fully utilise this day to relax and rejuvenate. It had been a taxing and rush weeks before the event last night but that is a story for another day. Today is my beloved country’s 52 years of independence so it’s gonna be all about the good old Malaysia tanah tumpah darahku!! 🙂

Errr…. i might not be the perfect person to blog about the value of the independence to the country because i am a 80-s baby!! (Are a 80-s baby? 80-s babies are cool, you know? ;-)) More than 2 decades after the historic moment so i might not be able to really relate to the real meaning of it. but despite my shallow in that department, i am one very nationalist person!! i am very proud to be Malaysian despite what other people say. i remember i used to blog about Independence Day in my old blog too and i am not gonna repeat the same tune today.

During this whole month, i’ve been listening and reading about this whole ‘One Malaysia’ thing. yes it’s a good thing! it defines unity among the multiracial of this country!! Even during my recent vacation (this again will be a story for another day ok) the in-flight magazines were flooded with articles / comments / thoughts by the celebrities and influential individuals about this Independence Day and some really nearly made my teary….. (see i am a sentimental person and i love my country) among others they all shared one thing in common in their comments, UNITY, they talked about how they made it to where they are today regardless of race, culture and of course religions and reading their stories and hope for the country brought a dry lump to my throat. why? because it is almost surreal to see people of different races can work as a good team nowadays in the society. but i believe them. i believe some of them really experienced the bond despite the whole different background. i believe it can be achieved 🙂 but sometimes at the end of the day, that notorious thought and mentality of defining ppl with their colour will still emerge somehow…… i am not being sceptical but when talk about racism. Ask me!!

I am gonna stir the ever exist sensitive sentiment of the national unity – racism! in my very own version and experiences. so pls don’t judge anything here ok. we know that there are five major races in this blessed Malaysia, Malay, Chinese, Indian, Iban and Kadazan. I am none of them. but i am one of those who live together with the 4th majority, the Ibans because we share the same land of this good old Sarawak. In the peninsular, it is easy to indentify each race. If u are very fair, you are a Chinese, if you are not so fair, you are Malay and if you are dark, you are definitely Indian. In Sarawak, it can be one pain in the neck to identify the exact race of one person until you know their last names. This is because we Sarawakian have too many different tribes all across the land. We label every different tribes by their traits and attitudes (which often influenced by their fore fathers’ characters? Err…. something like that) so we label (from my point of view and the subconscious mentality) Malay – lazy and ‘gaya saja lebih’ but quite trustworthy and friendly (my Malay friends are all very friendly :-)), Chinese – hardworking but bengkeng and always businessminded, Iban – troublemakers (after drinking too much) but also quite hardworking (they were head hunters, remember?) they are very sempoi too, Kayan – hard to work with but can be very smart, Kenyah – kuat makan cili, Kelabit – kinda think highly of themselves but mostly good looking, Lun Bawang – notorious gangsters when you pick on them but among the earliest believer! Bidayuh – very happening bunch of ppl!! Melanau – errmm… kinda lazy and lack of cleanliness but courteous. Notice i stressed on their negatives point before the positives? That is because human always point out the bad point of ppl first whenever they comment on one person.

It is common for non-chinese family to send their children to Chinese school here (i think if there’s any Tamil school they would send their children there too!) you can see groups of young kids playing mud or simply playing by the rivers screaming and howling at each other in Mandarin just to find out that they are actually Iban or other local natives T_T haha!! so i am one of those fortunate ones. At first it was difficult to cope what more to say i never attended kindergarten. I was totally clueless how it would be like to study with all cina (will use this to refer Chinese) kids. Of course like Yasmin Ahmad’s commercial ads about ‘Tan Hong Meng in love’ where our children are colour blind, i was like that then. naive and innocent to whatever they call ‘race’ and thought everyone is equal. My parents never taught us to stay away from other races other then us. They only taught us to make friends with all our classmates and respect our teachers and just study. That’s it! and that’s why i didn’t feel any awkwardness when i mingled with the cina then. until…… jeng… jeng…. jeng…. one day at a tuition centre at my teacher’s place. i was 11 years old that time. it was the 1st time i heard the word ‘la zhi’ (Mandarin) a.k.a ‘la kia’ (in Hokkien). my friend said something about another friend’s mum and say something about her that ‘la zhi is like that’ (in accusing tone) then i being so innocent asked her back ‘what is ‘la zhi’?’ (i thought an adjective from her mother tounge) then she answered ‘like your race la, we call you all la zhi!’ and i knew that she refers to ‘la zhi’ as a negative influence. (kecik2 dah pandai complain pasal mak orang!) LOL!! then it finally struck me that the cina refer to all Bumiputra (the natives) other than Malay as ‘la kia’. In peninsula, u wont hear this word. it only can be heard in Sarawak! During my Uni time, all my cina friends treated me like themselves because they don’t know ‘la kia’ and they don’t have ‘la kia’ only Malay and Indian. They are the best bunch of friends i’ve ever met!

In Sarawak, if the cina said the word ‘la kia’ it is like the ‘N’ word American refer to African-American! But being a sport, i didnt want to take it so seriously. I continued to mix around with the cina up till today. My best friends are Chinese. ppl always say i look like one. so it didnt really matter. they do talk bout ‘la kia’ in front of me but then they will tell me that they are just referring to the Iban! Hahahaa!!! once it refers to all Bumiputras and one time it refers to only Iban!! It can be so funny sometimes when they ‘accidentally’ blurted the word ‘la kia’ in front of me and they went silent for a second to respect my presence. KNS!! and you could feel the tension in the air. It can be hurtful sometimes though because you know your friends are being so hypocrite at the same time. I had the worst experience with some ppl who tried hard to protect their family from being close to me just because they do not want to taint their family tree with other race other then cina T_T but then hor… to my fellow ‘la kia’ friends, we can excel in cina school too!! like me! like me!! you can get no. 1 in class too… !! (wah, tak tanya pun :p nvm, let me brag!) so don’t let the word ‘la kia’ bring you down. It’s just a word. Not you!! God calls us by name!! not by race or religions. And shouldn’t we do the same too?!

Apparently the critism on each tribes and races will always be around. our mentality is fixed to what we’ve think about people by their race. but let us all learn to embrace the differences with a positive thinking and accept things that we shared in common that we are all human being!! Race defines our roots and identity but not what we are. Our attitudes, values and integrities define us! I am still so blessed to be placed by God in this beloved country Malaysia, and forever thankful for this good land of the Hornbills, Sarawak where people still can live harmoniously without any extreme and open disapproval towards each other. I am not saying that i am free from all those little critism towards other ‘race’ but at least i never talk too many negative things about my own country 🙂 and i love it for what it is (minus the politics la… pls). Hmm… now let’s watch this meaningful commercial by the late Yasmin Ahmad. One of my favourites!! Race? What Race?! Race car ah??!!! LOL!!!

Yesterday during the Sunday service we sang this song and it made me cried….. i so love my country!!

in case u cant view here’s the lyrics. i insist!! :p

Yesuslah Tuhan yang layak ditinggikan
Layak disembah atas suku-suku bangsa
Dengan darahMu Kau tlah tebus bangsaku
Genapi Tuhan, FirmanMu atas ne – gri ku

Hatiku rindu melihat kemuliaanMu
Hatiku rindu melihat curahan kuasaMu
Di tanah tercinta negara Malaysia
Ku berdoa Malaysia penuh kemuliaanMu
Malaysia bagi kemuliaanMu

Ya Allah ku nyatakan kemuliaanMu
Ya Allah ku nyatakan curahan kuasaMu
Di tanah tercinta negara Malaysia
Ku berdoa Malaysia penuh kemuliaanMu
Malaysia bagi kemuliaanMu

and i stumbled upon this while browsing for the above video. this is from our one and only miss Jacklyn Victor, Harapan Bangsa 🙂

you can see one with lyrics here.

Happy Birthday Malaysia!!

Have a blessed Merdeka Day, ppl!!

*EDIT*
OK, I AM GETTING VERY UNCONFORTABLE BOUT MY OWN WORDS ABOVE SO BEFORE I GOT MYSELF INTO TROUBLE I WANT TO STRESS HERE THAT ALL DESCRIPTIONs ABOUT EACH RACES ABOVE ARE MERELY MY OWN GENERAL THOUGHT AND OBSERVATION. SO DONT HATE ME PLS T_T. NOT ALL OF THEM ARE LIKE THAT. I HAVE MANY FRIENDS OF DIFF TRIBES AND THEY ARE ALL AWESOME PPL!! HONEST!!

Fireproof doesn’t mean the fire will never come. It means when the fire comes that you will be able to withstand it. by Michael Simmons from the movie Fireproof

Catherine Holt: So, what day are you on?
Caleb Holt: Uh… 43.
Catherine Holt: There’s only 40.
Caleb Holt: Who says I have to stop?
from the movie Fireproof

had a long day today. but i am not complaining because i know it was all worthwhile. so i have the priviledge to join the Putri (The Women Section) on their this week’s activity – movie! (was assigned as their dvd cum lcd controller) a movie called Fireproof. a truly inspiring movie. especially for the married ones. many memorable quotes and verses from the movie that really moving but the above two were ones i totally can relate to. maybe because i am still unmarried so i didnt really take good attention to the other quotes. but at least i learned something.

like my own quote,

i live to learn and i learn to live with it

simple joy makes me smile

two days ago an accident happended at mlng3 with one sad fatality. i was just working ‘next door’. the location i worked that day was just a fence away from mlng3. me and my col even had a time to snap some pictures of mlng from where we stood in bcot.

after the incident i received sms-es from ppl close to me and one unexpected one asking bout my condition. whether i was in mlng. thank God i wasnt. those sms-es sent smiles to my face. i’m blessed that i am so loved and cared 🙂 i am so easy to please!!

yesterday, The Grandparents came down to town from their outskirts place (fyi, i am in Btu) upon knowing i was around. we had lunch. seeing The Grandma laughed with delight eventhough she couldnt chew the kailan with her false teeth sent warmth to my heart. i knew they felt the same way to see me too 🙂 The Grandparents are so easy to please!!

then i sent TheYoungBro to his tuition centre. he asked for money sometimes. sometimes RM10 but i gave RM5. he didnt ask last night, just a ride to the tuition centre and not be late, that’s all. TheYoungBro is so easy to please!!

The Sister bought Big Apple for anybody at home. Especially for The Mother and TheYoungbro. i knew The Mother was elated. it showed through her eyes and smiles. The Mother is so easy to please!!

had dinner with a friend. he picked me up form the terminal in the afternoon. just a free meal he said. hmm…. my friend is so easy to please!!

those were the simple joy i had for the passed few days. what’s yours?!

sometimes we look at the big picture much too often that we overlooked the little details that make the big picture looks the way it is.

and talking about picture, here’s a scenic photo from my sg. collection :p

submission to the authorities

something unexpected happened at the workplace today that i do not fancy to recall and rephrase. safe to say that it wasnt a good episode where it almost took away the energy in me cos my easy heart doesnt use to such antics. venting in foul words with misplaced grammar sent pity and ticklish to my bone over the ‘rager’. usually i will vent them in anger and somewhat emo here but this time i decided to turn the leaf around looking at it in a positive way. my time is too valueable to rant about such ridiculous scene. takda hasil!!

after the whole thing, today i finally internalised the meaning of ‘submission to authorities’ even though i nearly toss away my respects toward these kind of ppl out of the window. just like a boomerang it returns back to me simply because i am aware that there are these kind of ppl exist in this world and however we despise them when they are ranked above us we still need to respect them. years ago i might hold grudges so long that i wish silent thought can kill or hope they turn into a fly so that they only eat shit for the rest of their life or sumpahseranah them so that they wont have a descendant forever. but now that i’ve learned what i’ve learned. ppl can change cos homo sapien is indeed a funny thing! and for a commercial break, that’s what Impact Camp did to u :p

today these verses have come to a good use in a form of self-slap! I mean reflection….

Rm 13:1-2 ‘everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgement to themselves’ (Kuang! Kuang! Kuang!)

Heb 13:17 ‘Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, FOR THAT WOULD BE OF NO ADVANTAGE TO YOU’ (alamak!)

so do you have any feud / misunderstanding / disrespect / rebel towards your ‘authorities’? authorities here can be referred as ur country leaders, ur bosses, ur parents, teachers, group leaders, a bus driver….. whoever is in-charge or above u, is established by God. aha! siapa berani lawan? so anyhow we must obey and respect them.

it may be difficult to gulp. i doubt i can but i am assimilating bit by bit…..

can you?

u see this in bali..... crown on top of the rooftops.

u see this in bali..... crown on top of the rooftops.

I live to learn and i learn to live with it

Be blessed, people!
