Chateau St. Julien, rural France

Bonjour!!

Yup!! You guessed it! I am now in France. In rural France to be exact. I forgot what is the exact name of this village but we are staying in this gigantic, cozy, antiques but renovated ancient castle called Chateau St. Julien. It’s our accommodation for the whole weekends as well as the reception venue of the wedding of my lovely friend Wellena and her French husband Nico. In fact this is actually Nico’s village where his parents live.

We’ve been staying in this chateau since 2 days ago. I’m loving every little corner of it. It looked spooky on the first sight but once inside, I’m amazed at everything that it offers. There are a total of seven rooms in this chateau that accommodates 15 occupancy but honestly it could fit 50 people. And I am now in a big room for the single travelers with 4 beds but I myself is not sleeping here. I am here just to suck some wifi cos it’s stronger here. Hehehe….. I sleep in a double room with my other girl friend, Cell.

We landed Paris after a rough 12 hours flight from KL on 19th early morning Paris time. There wer four of us from Malaysia. Me, Cell (the bridesmaid), Nick (the imported wedding photographer) and Azra ( the only one from KL). I believe everyone in the flight were not expecting the weather can be so cold when the Captain announce the temperature outside. It was 6 degree!!! Oh my gucci!! I thought I is Spring already?! In fact even the couple weren’t expecting the weather can be this so freaking cold that’s why they chose Spring Wedding at the first place.

So, we took a train to the main train station to this village. We still had plenty of time before our scheduled train to depart. Darn! The weather was so freakingly cold that all we wanted to do is to seat in a cafe and eat to keep us warm (from the heater). Gosh! This isn’t Spring. This is still Winter!! Maybe even colder than winter in Melbourne and Taipei the last time I went there. Now I am so glad that I brought my thick sweater apart from my trusted leather jacket. And my thermal sleeping long johns. Thank goodness!!

We took another 4 hours ride of train to reach the village and another 30 minutes to reach this majestic chateau. Apparently this chateau is up for rental for events such as weddings, workshops etc. The weather is very unpredictable, it can rain or drizzle for 15 mins and then stop and sun comes out and then half an hour later it rains again and repeat pattern for 100 times. So u tell me la, how to go out further? When every time after few shots of photos, we have to run back into the chateau whenever it started to rain 😦 and the fireplace never stop burning. It has been the favorite spot for everyone to get warm. Khaleena just arrived from Scotland yesterday and we did tried to walk a little further and the same thing happened. We had to run back again. grrrr!!

There are so much I wanted to write down. But the time is limited now. The wedding is today!! Yay!! And will start in another 6 hours at a church an hour drive from here. Yeah…. Everything is far here. But the bus is coming to pick us up at 12.30pm. So I need to get ready now. the reception will be at 8.30pm tonight. But over here, the sun sets at 8.30-9pm. They have longer day time here 🙂

I dont know how we all can stand the cold and chill with our dress later but for vanity we’ll brave ourselves.

I cannot wait for the wedding. The theme is ‘vintage’. So I’m going to shower now.

To Wel and Nico, enjoy your special day! And just have fun and don’t stop falling in love to each other over and over again. And million thanks for keeping me in this beautiful place and feed me so well that I think I’ve gain weigh just within these two days.

Be blessed always!

Just Cause: Astry & Astry :p

before i lose my mojo and excitement on this batch of portrait i better blog and post them now. procrastinate another day, they probably will end up in the ‘to blog’ folder for another 10 years.

these sisters shared a very unique name, Astry. but they both are of totally different character. each with her own personality. Astry A. (Ana) is bubbly, out-going and fun. While Astry Z. (Azie) is the opposite. she’s the quiet, helpful, soft-spoken and that goes with the flow type. but they share two things in common apart of their first name. they have the kindest soul and giving heart! ❤

Ana and her little princess, Kiera are now residing in China (follow the husband who has been transferred there few months ago). they came back to Labuan just for a short break. Azie on the other hand, will pursue her course to the land down under very soon T____T i'll be losing my helpful assistant. pretty or not? i will surely miss her as a colleague as well as a dear friend.

so, jangan banyak merepek kerana kerepek dah habis.

let's see pretty ladies 😀

ever sweet Ana 🙂

Astry A.

smile and the whole world smile with you both 😀

^.^

kindred spirit

how can i resist a shot of their backyard that’s overlooking a lake. it’s where we spent some of our lazy weekends. sure gonna miss those times when leave soon T_____T

the backyard that has served us very very well during weekend chill outs.

and last but not least. a photo that sums up the personality of each of them. my fav!!! 😀

Astry Z. & Astry A. 🙂

i’m so glad to know, work, play, spending the weekends with this amazing sisters whom i now called friends.

Ana & Azie, i wish nothing but the best to both of you wherever you are. God bless!!

Happy Friday!!

Wedding: Beng & Nelly

Beng and Nelly got married December last year. I dint know Nelly but i definitely know the Ling family (Beng’s family). Beng’s sister, S.Lee, is my ex-classmate and their father used to be my Math teacher in secondary school. Beng or Ah Beng as we usually call him, is a robust, funny, loud and out going character. he owned his own little kopitiam business where friends and family gather to catch up or just simply update latest gossip. Nelly is a kind and soft-spoken girl. she teaches special students. with that i take my hat off *salute*. S.Lee contacted me that they needed a photographer to document their special day. after checking with my own schedule, no clash, i immediately agreed! and wah-lah!!! here are some of my fav shots of the day. and their wedding marked my last wedding of 2010. but it was my first time shooting wedding at my small little hometown where people are more skeptical than encouraging. *kancheong*

we started early in the morning. Nelly wore a bright red chinese traditional costume for the day. and she has a very pretty shoes that i so tempted to steal it.

Big Love + Little Nuggets

it’s amazing how a 7y.o could understand the meaning of LOVE and touch your heart by just a simple stick-figure drawing . a big uneven heart-shape circling little stick-figure family with two little heart-shapes on each parent’s hand. HEART-SHAPES ON EACH HAND!!! and a caption that will crush your heart to pieces. *wipes tears*

my heart still ache from all the unfortunate things that happened. horrible thing that no children in the world should ever experience in their young little lives. gosh!! how i hate messed-up grown-ups sometimes!!! now whenever i see their happy faces in the photos that i used to take for them send a big lump to my throat. ALAS. all i can do is pray for the better. God guides them and us to weather the storm.

to my beautiful Little Nuggets, whatever happen next, whoever you’ll be with next, whichever path you’ll take next, whenever you think of us, please know that ong che che always, ALWAYS, have this Big Love for you. bigger than the uneven heart-shape in the drawing.

xoxo

Dear Cookie

there were times when i totally forgotten about this special day although a week or even a month before it i was ecstatic about it and reminded self countless-ly to make the effort to call at midnight. such time was like this time. you called to say good night last night but i was too excited telling you the disturbing exorcism story happened earlier on next door (interesting story will tell other time) until… wait for it… my phone (the one that i used talking to you) vibrated furiously and when i looked at the message, OH NO!!! it’s your birthday!! and it’s midnight already!! ok, so in between scary ghost story i wished you ‘Happy Birthday’. isnt it exciting having me as your gf? *bates eye-lashes* *sayang*

i’m trying to be romantic and all with this post but i think i fail miserably in that department lah ok. so do you!! we are such a boring couple, dont you think so?! but at least the most romantic act i’ve ever did for your birthday was a surprise birthday last year which makes everyone happy 😀 and this year you were too busy to utilize your present that it went burnt, so booyah!! so i win 2-0.

i’m sorry i’ve lashed you with hard words even on your birthday. you still have time to reconsider everything kns. i’m serious. *serious look* but still i’ll pray that you’ll have a great day today, and may our good God continue to pour His blessing upon you as He guides you in His path for you in your life. you have been one of the wonderful person that God has put in my life that i would never want to trade with anyone else. though we’ve stumbled rocky path that hurts our sole (ok we dont wear footwear in this metaphor) but with His guidance love will find a way…..

these two photos from Ip4 shall remind me of how blessed i am when i am with you…..

#1 in soul searching….

#2 and especially in gastronomical bliss….

Happy Birthday!!

Winter In My Heart

it’s cold. i fear i might lost all my sense of feeling towards everything and anything. no there’s no snow. just cold. quiet. and somewhat a tint of sorrow. disappointment after disappointment. i am tired. i covet solitude. but where can i run?!

then i remember your heart. it’s warm. it is also here. close to mine. keeping me fuzzy inside out. i didnt mean to steal and keep it. i had it then. i have it now. i want to have it forever. please hold my hands. very tight.

winter. the season will pass.

Because A Phone Call Is Just Not Enough

Filed under: Hot & Zesty People — lv @ 5:54 pm
Tags: , , ,

the other night as i was sipping my hot milk by the pier overlooking the many boats docking at the harbour with robbie williams at the background i received a very unexpected call. the caller id was “T Mie”. that’s my youngest aunt. but as i said hello my heart leaped with joy upon hearing that chirpy voice….

all conversations were in mandarin sometimes with a mixture of bahasa melayu.

abisadj: ong che che…. how are you?! what are you doing?!! *ahhww…. my heart melt like butter on a hot pan*
me: good. kenapa kamu call ong che che ni?! mana mummy?! why do you simply use mummy’s phone to call?! *so unappreciative :p*

abisadj: i miss you lah. i am thinking of you so i call you lor…. *ahhwwww*
me: really? ok now let me call u back dont waste mummy’s credit or else…

so i called her back.

abisadj: why do you need to call me back? i have a lot of credit balance….
me: dont simply call using your mum’s phone. later she’ll faint after checking on the balance.

abisadj: i can use house phone also. no need for you to call back.
me: save that for emergency ok. so what are you doing? where’s mummy and daddy?

abisadj: mummy went out. daddy working. we all (she and siblings) stay at home with shannon che che (my other cousin). amor is drawing. you know lah she always drawing all the time. yang yang playing.
me: i see. have your front tooth grow?
abisadj: so so (i sense a doubting tone)

me: how are you all? have you been a good girl at school?
abisadj: yes. i got A for my english. not just A. it’s an A+!!
me: ok. what about maths?
abisadj: my mathematic is good too. bm also A.
me: good girl. keep that up!!

abisadj: mummy said you work very hard. dont work until late laaa….. *heart melt again*
me: *cough* mana ada?! your dad also work until late bah… same lah…

abisadj: i cant wait for school holidays…. three more weeks leh… i want to go to miri but you are not there… lai che che only…
me: come to labuan then. u want?
abisadj: what is in labuan?! is there big shopping mall?! *fainted*
me: sadly, there’s nothing here….
abisadj: eeee…. so boring….. *T___T*

me: what’s amor drawing?
abisadj: dunno…. not done yet.
me: pass the phone to her. i wanna speak to her.

amor’s turn.

me: hello there sweetie… what are you drawing?
abigail: i’m drawing ong che che… *ahhww…. sayang*
me: why do you draw me?
abigail: sebab kamu baik…. *LOL!!!!! suddenly bm!!*
me: finish your drawing then ask ah yee to take the picture of it ok?
abigail: ok. i’m drawing you watching tv.
me: we’ll see… now hand back to ah yee…

back to abisadj.

abisadj: ong che che, when are you getting married?! *fainted!!*
me: *LOL* just you wait ok…. will let you all know and you two will be flower girls again ok?!
abisadj: ok. i want to be your flower girl. i already told that koko (The Boyfriend) last time. (i can hear her giggling))
me: yalayalaaaa… remember to take a photo of amor’s drawing k.
abisadj: why? u want me to take the photo and then tag you on facebook is it?
me: *bumped* (because that was exactly my intension and was about to teach her how) u know how to do that?
abisadj: i know…!!!! *kids nowaday*

the conversation continued with some more nonsense and with me ended it with some lame advice eg: dont play with fire, sharp object or try commiting suicide by jumping out the windows.

and that unexpected call made my day….

but that was just not enough for me. i might be in their thoughts but they are in my heart. and better still i have them in still image that i can look at anytime i like. so here are my three little nuggets!!

#1

my 8y.o fierce (i mean it) young cousin, abisadj.

#2

sweetest thing. 6y.o abigail.

#3

All I Want For My Valentine Is…..

my cookie…..

T_____T

you may notice that mini widget at the bottom of the right sidebar where there’s a stick figure couple walking hand in hand. well, believe it. it’s that long….. 🙂 this is not my usual style to write about my personal life especially my relationship (or maybe once in a blue moon just a little snippet) but this time against my own judgement i make this just one exception. yes. without the knowing of the subject – The Boyfriend :p but that’s fine because he doesnt read my blog. teeheehee…

so this is exclusive.

for the first time.

introducing to you.

ok, that’s all i can show you :p

to The Boyfriend (if he ever read this),

darling, i am still angry. still disappointed, still sulking, still pouting. yes. even on this day. i dont care about valentine’s day. i dont show my love only on this day. so i can still be pissed with you even on this day for all i want. but you know. yes you know. i love you to moon and back.

much love and smooches.

since it’s a day where love is in the air. i wore these to match the theme today. both are my best purchase from my most recent vacations.

Celebration of Love

in 2010.

through my lense.

u know. i love the word l.o.v.e. because in between of it are my initials. i know this is lame but that’s the truth. and among many things i like to scribble the heart shape stands number one on the list. and then a flower. and then a house with a coconut tree by the side. and where was i? oh yeah. i love love! it is timeless. and as much as love the word, the essence of it, i took pride to witness how it is celebrated. by couples that are madly in love that they sealed it with together-ness. forever.

so today i’m going to share with you the joy of witnessing love through my lense. some were taken just because i have labo. some were official. but however it was i was glad glad glad to be part of their celebration of love in their lives.
